Hi Everyone

Just wanted to get some thoughts on a possible purchase of a Model 3913 listed as "very good" over here in Australia.

Do I need a Model 3913 in my 3rd Gen Collection. So far I have a 4506-1, 5906, 5906 TSW, 4006, and 3904. This would go on my Collectors License as we do not have Conceal Carry Laws here.

The serial number is VAF1706 and is listed for sale at $675 AU (which is about $485 USD). Due to our laws and the 2003 Handgun Buy-back, 3rd Gen Smiths are hard to come by.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

As they're so hard to come by, so by all means, buy it! I carried and shot a 3913 NL for a while, and really liked it. Then I decided I wanted the same gun with higher capacity and found a 6906. (didn't get to keep that sleek little slanted dust cover) Wow, do I love that gun! Why didn't I find it some 25 years ago?! My only regret is letting the 3913NL go, and it was a jewel. It sounds like a good price to me.

Squidsix said it as well as I have ever heard!!

Of course you should get a 3913.....the King of CC...grab it before some one else discovers it!!!

Good heavens yes, Brother Moo! :D
I used a 3913 for several years. *Never* had a single malfunction. This is a gun that makes the shooter look good! Very accurate, well-balanced, reasonable recoil. It will fit perfectly in your collection. I'll never sell mine.

I'm happy to give you advice
Don't hesitate....next time don't hesitate.
They don't last long.
I think it's a great addition I love the compacts.
I would be interested in talking to a fellow S&W collector in Australia.
This week I have had a good week added a 16-4, a mint 952-2 and a lovely 3913 to my collection 😁

I'd buy it.
IMHO the 3913 was one of the first reliable and affordable production small frame 9mm. My father owned one for decades, it was the designated house gun and also the fist 9mm Semi Auto I spent trigger time with. It was a common LE off duty weapon and had a good reputation. It supposedly inspired the Sig 239 and Kahr K9 as competing pistols.

If you like the 3rd gens and it appears that you do then you absolutely need to add the 3913 to your collection! It's top tier when it comes to 3rd gens and is well respected outside of the S&W community. If that picture is the actual gun in question then the black trigger means MIM parts which I prefer in 3rd gens. I think they are smoother...at least all of mine demonstrate that. Not that the silver triggered guns aren't good as well but the MIM guns just seem a bit smoother to me out of the box. I recently purchased a 3913NL non MIM and while I like it just fine and am very happy it would need a little stoning to be better as it has not been shot much at all. I probably won't do it simply because it's fine as is and I won't shoot it much anyway...haven't shot it yet! I have my MIM 3913 and my 3954 to carry and shoot. As to the price they are fetching at least that here so the price is fine. The pic is all 3913's of different variants. The other is a 3954 which is same frame but DAO. If you like revolvers then a 3953 or 3954 is a must as well.

Jump on that 3913...you won't regret it! Let us know how it goes.

I have owned 3913 and 3913NL but let them go for 6
906s. I have never carried. I have 6906s DAO and double action both.
