DO NOT ASK sign

I used to dream of buying a cabin with my brother in some remote and beautiful area to use as an occasional retreat.

Thinking it through, though, I gave up on the idea as I think an unoccupied cabin would be a draw for all sorts of miscreants, leading to considerably more headaches than pleasure for me.

I also wanted a cabin but then I figured I needed a moat with gators, drawbridge, fence with razor wire;)

Yeah I get wrapped around the axle on this issue. Guess I need to get to know the sheriff better. Last time I ran a plate and took him the info he shrugged it off and said yeah he's a local fireman - he was probably drunk but otherwise harmless.
DING! DING! DING! Sounds to me like you live in a corrupt, likely inbred, county where certain families believe they have rights to everything. You need to find a way to get the Feds involved and flush the lot of them flushed to club-fed. When we had Operation G-Sting here, local LE found out about it from the local media once the arrests were made, I believe. Bijou clue-ette there, I think.

I have stepped across the firebreak once or twice before in my younger days, so I'm not perfect. It was in an area close to home I could walk into, and nobody was around. I was brought up hunting prime properties for quail. My Father knew someone who had property and quail in their family: two fishing ponds, too.

It helped me to understand better when owning property. Wildlife Management Areas, quota hunt applications, some military bases, and friends with friends is where I did 99% of my hunting, though, in later years. Never wanted to pay high dollar for a place to hunt. Guided hunts out of state for ducks and geese at lodges once or twice a year I could afford...sometimes. Never really needed more venison than what I could get on the above places. I do like to hunt, though.

As the season approaches, you guys be safe. Make your plans how to handle things, and get ready. People are going to be people, and there are all kinds out there. Some folk have no respect for others. Some people think they can do anything they want. Some parts of the country do not mind people asking if geese are in their field. They might even go with you the next morning. Having your kid hunting with you, please be safe.

People and their properties should be left alone. My attorney said to post the property, including "Violators Will Be Prosecuted!" He said he would see to it. Good luck and Godspeed.
