Although I recently purchased a S&W model 29-3 in nickel a few weeks back, I still felt I was missing something. It's a nice gun and all, but I have always had a fuzzy feeling for pinned and recessed Smiths. Well, what is one of the all-time most famous P&R Smiths? You got it, Dirty Harry's 29-2 6.5" 44 mag.
Met up with a member from PAFOA today and did a trade of a Glock 17 + cash. Nice guy. It's a sign of how old I am when ppl don't look on these old revolvers the way I do, but I aint complainin'.

Yes! A great trade - a modern plastic pistol (no matter how well made and functional) for a classy classic is what I call the best kind of trade. Way to go!

That 29 really looks impressive in a photo shot from that angle. I had to look twice to convince myself that was a 6 1/2" barrel. Looked too long at first.

Nice!

Congrats on a great trade. Nice little packin gun you got there. I would trade any of my plastics for something like that

That revolver has a classic soul to it while the Glock you traded away has a business character to it. Both viable and both useful and approachable; yet I'll admit that I'm a soul man...

You should be charged with grand larceny for that type of theft.

I actually did feel guilty for doing this deal. I included 4 - 17rnd mags, Glock box and acc's, and 300 cash. He included an extra Pachmayr "gripper" grip, a speed loader, and 3 full boxes of brass cased 240gr lead "cowboy" loads ammunition that he said was "smokey".:D

Congrats on your find! I've got a 6 1/2 nickel M-29 (built in 1973) and it's my favorite revolver. Enjoy!
