I feel your pain. After struggling with various plastic boxes, I threw most of them out and started using pint Ziploc freezer bags. Handy, cheap, and they fit nicely in .50 cal ammo cans for storage, something the plastic boxes never could do.

The pint freezer bags are also perfect size for 8 loaded .45ACP moon clips. 12 bags (96 clips) is a perfect fit in one of those small size plastic Big 5 ammo cans with a couple thin sheets of foam.

I hate to let my secret out for 38 special wad cutter boxes but the 9mm federal boxes that my friend throws away are perfect for my 38 special wadcutter reloads.

I have some 9mm plastic snap top boxes. Just checked, 38 sp WC fit perfect. I have long used these for 32 S&W long.
