Do you keep a mag loaded at home near your gun?

Keep my 6906 in condition one at all times, I carry an extra mag with me also. At home the weapon sits on the nightstand next to me at night with an extra mag and flashlight close by.

I got a loaded mag in my CZ SP01 without one in the chamber as I have a 4 year old running around. Now she knows not to touch the guns in the house and I have showed them to her and let her see them so it is not something new. Without a round up the pipe, she can pull the trigger all day and nothing will happen. I also have 8 more mags loaded close by.
If you have a gun with the ammo locked up in two different places, you should just get a louisville slugger because the gun is useless!

I have the mag in and one in the pipe at all times. I carry it during the day and it rest next to me at night with spare mags on the night stand, in the bug out bag, and in the truck. No sense being caught short. That being said, a quick access safe is a good idea. Makes your gun readily available and prevents access by any who don't need to be touching it.

Loaded?

I do not have my CCW as of yet. During the day, weapons are in the safe. At night, I keep my pistol in the drawer next to my bed with the mag inserted, but no round chambered.

I keep a clip next to my 9mm on my night stand. I've read it takes 8 seconds to fully wake up from a sound sleep. This is the reason I do not keep it loaded. We had a neighbor wake up and empty his gun at a window after waking up from a sound sleep with a loaded gun near by. A few towns over a man shot his wife when she went to the bathroom and he woke up from a sound sleep with a loaded gun near by.

Thanks Pop

I keep 1 mag in and 1 in a single mag holder on me at all times,or at least when i'm not sleeping. In fact i have even gone so far as to have a sleeping rig slung over my shotgun at night just for the bumps in the wee hours of the morning.

I took apart a shotgun shell belt and added a left handed holster and mag holder to it,then i put the belt back togather, sowing it back for added strength. If for some reason i will need to get to my children i will have shotgun as primary with 5+1+25 extra rounds on the belt.I'll have my handgun as back up in it's holster with 12+1+12 in an extra mag ansd all i got to do is clip the belt and go.No i'm not going to war but there should ever be more than one intruder and my shotgun should ever faulter or get taken away i'll have all the back up i need.

i keep my cs45 loaded 24/7 when i'm out or at home, and is always within reach, one thing i would like to point out,is, guns with a light attached to them.my father was an old school 25yr veteran of the florida hwp.and his take on a gun and flashlights was, never shine the light from your body or your face, because where is the bg going to shoot at first??? the light.he always would raise it above his head when looking into car or searching in the dark for a criminal.. be a little biased, and much thought,i tend to agree with him.just my 2 cents.think about it.......... "someone onced asked me why i carry a 45?? and i said , because they don't make a 46''

I keep 16 +1 in the pistol on the dresser with a 16 round full mag next to it. The wife also has a 16+1 loaded on her side of the bed. We have no children. Pity the fool that breaks into our house, we are prepared.

i keep several pistols loaded at all times around the house. starting with my 500mag and my ruger p89 and my ruger sbh 44mag and my taurus pt145 (primary carry weapon) and my pietta/remington 44cal bp revolver and, last but certaintly not least, my mossberg 590 12ga jungle gun. i do have 2 boys 8 and 11. they have the opportunity to shoot about twice a month at the range. this has kept their curiosity at a minimum when it comes to handling firearms. it's no big deal to my boys to see one of daddy's guns on the table with his keys and wallet. when parents, IMNOTSOHO, keep 'em hidden all the time and do not introduce their children to firearms, it's an accident waiting to happen...........................

Pity...

I wonder if he/she will even notice the great finish y'all have on your weapons before the poor sap goes to meet God...
