Do You Like The Smell Of Hoppe's #9?

Yeah, I think it smells nice and so does my dog. No too long ago, he found some used patches in the trash and ate them. I better not get a Hoppe's air freshener or he'll probably eat that too.

Did the last one come out "clean"?

Oh yeah, I have always liked the smell, now the wife on the other hand doesn't care for it, so I clean outside on the back patio. Of course some of the **** she sprays in the house I think would gag a magget on a gut wagon!

Great smells

Gun cleaning solvent, gun oil, woodshop, machined metal, leather, Captain Black pipe tobacco (I don't smoke anymore but that stuff smells GOOD!) I like the smell of gunpowder when shooting. Not black powder....it's pretty acrid.

I don't use it anymore, but I open a bottle and let it set there while I'm cleaning guns, cause it just isn't right without it. As a kid, Hoppes was always in the air, and when the old man opened the gun cabinet ( it was built into the wall of MY ROOM with glass doors, and stood twenty rifles and shotguns along with hanging space for a dozen pistols) lordy it smelled of Hoppes, leather and wood. Thats what dreams are made of.

No, honestly, I don't like the smell, nor does it resemble bannanas, to me.

And the stuff makes me wheeze. I use it, in open areas, but finish up with it ASAP.

Break-Free and Rem-Oil don't bother me. Yes, I saw David's post above about Break-Free. I just don't have the reaction that he does. We all react differently to some odors, I guess.

I love it, its brings back memories of my time being a range officer at a Boy Scout Camp when I was in my teens.

Nothing smells better than burning shotgun powder but Hoppes #9 is a very close second. Takes me back to a simpler and much better time.

I got the air freshner for the jeep, it lasted about 2 days. Took a small microfiber cloth, added a few drops of Hoppe's and stuck it in the ashtray. Have to refresh every few weeks, jeep smells great.
