For a number of years I owned several S&W 1911s, including one of the first 1911SCs. My interest drifted to shooting revolvers and other types of guns and I've gone through a period of time without one. My interest however has rekindled. I've got a 1911PD coming in the mail and I'm excited about rejoining the S&W 1911 Club. Dennis

I picked up a LNIB target model 108284 this past fall, and absolutely love it. It is very accurate and just feels right my hands. Only got in one range session before it got too cold out and snow started flying in Maine, but it was enough to get me hooked. Can't wait til spring comes, so I can get out to the range again. Which means I really need to finish up my reloading bench so I can get reloading. Couldn't believe the price of WWB at Wally World the last time I was in--$34.97 for 100 round value pack, before tax.

:)
Picked up a low mileage 1911sc, made in 2003 I believe.. love it, once I learned how to hold the grip and release the grip safety completely.. :) Do my 945's count as 1911..? I'd really like to get at least one of 2 more 1911's, different length barrels and such. beautiful workmanship on the Smiths and for the money a very good purchase compared to some of the higher priced 1911's. The only complaint I've heard are the triggers being looser than most... doesn't bother me in the least, as it has zero negative effect.. other than it gives something for people to complain about when they can't find anything else wrong. :)

Here's my baby. I prefer the more basic look, no front serrations, wood grips, blue, and short guide rod. Very dependable and more accurate than I am.

I have 2 SW1911's. I bought my first one new when they started producing them and I traded for a used 1 on this forum recently. I love them both.

I bought the target model 108284 a few years ago and it's fantastic. It looks great, feels great, & shoots great. It's my one and only 1911.

Mine's the Commander with CT grips. I don't run hundreds at the range like some heavier 1911s because of the lighter frame. It's in the nightstand. The laser is great.

I have a two tone PC 1911. Love it. Shoots just as good or better than any other custom 1911 I ever owned/built or shot.

This is my S&W 1911. It is by far my favorite .45. I got it used at my local pawn shop for about $700. It came with box, papers and 2 extra mags

I have four 1911 pistols, and three of them are S&W: a 5" stainless, a 4.25" Compact ES, and a 3" Pro. I also have a Colt Government Model XSE in blue, 5". I have also owned 1911s made by Kimber, SIG, Taurus, Magnum Research, and Springfield, and I think S&Ws are the best (other than custom.)

Some people knock the S&W models, because of the external extractor and it not being a "pure" design...but that doesn't matter to me. When you stop and think about it, how many pistols have an internal extractor, other than 1911s?

A buddy of mine bought one.

We took it to the range, and it threw the spent shell casings right back in our faces just like other 1911-pattern guns.

S&W 1911Sc with 5" barrel. I bought it 6 years ago on the recommendation of a friend on our pistol team. Working for S&W he knew the concern in the company for good initial acceptance of their build on a tried and true platform. Since he was a part of the effort I picked one up at the local dealer. He was right! The gun has been flawless, fun to shoot, and accurate from day one. I have to admit though... as a carry weapon on a hot, humid day in the southeast where we now live (in shorts and tee shirts), it's a trip to conceal.

I own a bunch of 1911s but the one I chose for my duty gun is a SW1911 9mm Pro Series. It's the fastest, most accurate gun I own.
