Do you prefer the snub K frames over other lengths? UPDATE

Since I don't really conceal carry K frames, I prefer 4" to 6" for shooting. 4" makes a nice length for hunting, but 6" is nice when target shooting off the bench.

Well based on the current inventory of 19's/66's, all P&R, the nod would go to the 4 inchers, which there are 3, 2 of the 2 1/2", and 0 six inchers. Actually I like all of them and don't know if I could nail it down to one length as the clear winner.

I have a mod 10 snub that i used to carry until I went with a 442. For me, the K frame snub just seemed overly heavy, especially in a pocket. The J frames seem perfect for that purpose. For shooting, I like my Mod 19's and the rest to have 4" barrels. Easy to carry on the hip and easy shooting.

My snubby K frames are a 3" Model 13 and a true snubby Model 15. I still have a Model 64 snub NY-1 on my buy list. I tend to prefer snub nose revolvers. I don't own one with a barrel longer than 3". My small gathering of snubs includes:

651-1 snub
36 snub
13-3 3"
15-4 snub
29-3 3"
and a Taurus 445 snub nose 44spl for yardwork/heavy duty

I guess you could say I love snubbies :)

I like the 3" and less crowd. Heck, I even cut a few N frames down for myself.

The 3" K frame seems to balance really well for me, and I like the full length ejector rod.

I like my 2-1/2" Model 66, but I LOVE my 3" Model 66. That full-length guide rod is just the perfect balance between functionality of a shorter barrel revolver, aesthetics, and feel in the hand.

Yes indeed!

I like the shorter barrels, but not so much the 2” barrels mainly because of the short ejector shaft.
I do love the 2.5” 3” and 3.5” barrels in any frame size, especially 3” J frames.
I even have a 3.5” pre-model 15. Not factory, but for some unknown reason, a previous owner chopped a ½” off the barrel.

I really prefer a 5" barrel in a revolver. The balance is just right for me. But it matters not if I need to hit a man-sized target, close or far, I can.
From two feet to 200 yards.

I have a snub pair of Rossi .38s in stainless. Actual barrel length on them is 2.25" and they are great shooters.

I'm in the same camp as several of you. Even though I carry either a CA Undercover, or Chiefs special, and own a couple 6" Model 10s, most of my revolvers are 4", which I feel is the best length.:D
