I remember seeing him on TV years ago. He was incredible, drawing, shooting & re-holstering faster than you can believe.
My Dad sent me this link. Apparently Munden passed away
recently. The video is a little long but worth a watch.

I seem to recall that he was on Shooting USA a few times (back when we got the channel that it was on). Good stuff, fun to watch him. I seem to recall seeing a post on Jim Scoutten's facebook page when he passed.

I've had the video about him, "The Fastest Man with a Gun Who Ever Lived,"
for years now and get it out every once in a while, just to be amazed.
A true pro.....

may bob RIP what a great gunner and person,,hadn't watched much news on tv since the sandy hook,,so much opinion and lies and misinformation in the news and my local news didn't carry story,12 12 last year from heart attack,,have tried to imitate some of his moves just lately and communicate by email 2 yr ago about a revolver repair.
there is a lot of material out there,,take a look and marvel and enjoy, i will miss seeing him on the air....

I really enjoyed watching Bob shoot.
That guy really knew how to "clear the leather".
I had to watch it in slo-mo to be sure it was'nt
a trick. Fastest Gun in the west... I'm not in a
position to judge but i would'nt have bet against
ole Bob Munden. A very good trick shot artist as well.
RIP Bob

Chuck

Wow, I didn't know this.

I seem to remember him on a tv show where they did super slow-motion and he hit two balloons in a shooting range almost simultaneously.

Incredible.

Munden was on tv virtually every Wednesday night on Impossible Shots on the Outdoor Channel the last 6 years or so. I loved his humor ("I'm not perfect, I'm just the best there is." "It's hard to be humble when you're this good.")

I sent Munden a Cimarron 1872 Open Top .44 Special a couple years ago. I loved the gun but its factory trigger/action was terrible. Munden made it amazingly perfect! I had him cut the forcing cone to 11 degrees and engrave "Custom by Bob Munden" on the barrel.

I cried when I learned he died of a heart attack 2 months ago. I walked around my house holding (and cocking and easing the hammer down) my 1872. Munden was a true gentleman, sportsman, and 2nd Amendment true believer.

He will be sorely missed.

Some of his most amazing feats were hitting a steel plate at 200 yards with a 2" S&W .38 snobby, shooting a .45 acp and opening a safety pin by brushing the edge of the bullet on the pin, shooting a coin on edge and causing it to spin on a table, and shooting a key placed in the bottom of a padlock to turn the key with a bullet and open the lock.

Bob Munden, a true inspiration. Impressive shooting a balloon at 200 yards with a
.38 snubby. Passed in mid december 2012. Hold 18
Guiness World records in fast draw and Fastest man in the World with
a gun that ever lived. Seemed like a good ole boy too.
Rest in peace Bob

There was no disrespect intended in my post. The man was amazing.
Read my post again.
The joke was about my wife's dirty looks (which are pretty fast:D), not my (or Mr. Munden's) shooting skills.

Your stereotyping me as disrespectful because I have the poor luck of living in NY is unfortunate. With your mindset about NY, if you knew me I'd amaze you.
I love living in the country too. Plenty of trees and wilderness where I live. ;)

This is so true. I am guilty of it myself. In the past, whenever I
thought of New York, I thought of New York City. You know,
skyscrapers, concrete, & lots & lots of people. Then I had the
chance to see Upstate New York, & I was blown away! Definitely some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen.

Bob was a genuine nice guy and would have been whether he was a competitive shooter or not. RIP.

Amazingly fast and an unbelievably accurate. I watched him one night shoot a balloon with a model 36 at 200 yards (the balloon was only about 8 or 10 inches in diameter). I also watched him shoot a dime thrown into the air. Forgot what show it was on; all I know is I was amazed.
