Do you still have a certain "caliber" that you would like to bring to the collection?

Personally, I feel I have all the calibers covered that I could really ever need. I'm always open to purchasing a new gun, but one of the same calibers I already stock up on and use at the range etc.
I shoot 22lr, 223/556, 38sp. 357, 9mm and 45acp. but I can't think of anything I'm missing that I'd ever want. I know I won't ever go for a 380 or a 40 cal. I don't see the point when there's 38sp, 9mm and 45Acp. I feel like I will always love the calibers I chose and will never be curious about owning anything else.
Although there's one exception and that would be a 12 ga. I have not shot one ever. I don't hunt so that's probably the reason for that but I can see myself one day purchasing a shotgun just for the thrill of blowing the hell out of old refrigerators.
What are you all considering as your down the road purchase of something you never owned before or want to own again?

A couple:

  1. .38 Super - I've always wanted a .38 Super M1911, but have never gotten around to getting one. I'm leaning toward a nickeled Rock Island, but put it off to get a 3.5" Citadel M1911 to replace the Norinco 5" M1911 carry gun that I had to sell to pay the rent three years ago.
  2. 6.5 Grendel - I love 6.5mm rifles (I have a Swedish Model 96 Mauser). I'd like to get a 6.5mm Grendel upper for my AR, but I have no place worthwhile to shoot a good rifle, so I'm in no big hurry.

I'm just the opposite. I started off with .22, .38/357 and .45 ACP. Added .25, .32. 9mm, 44 mag, .45LC, a couple obsolete stuff, bunch of rifle calibers, etc. I wish I had just stuck with the original three. I also wish I had stuck with two basic platforms; revolver and 1911.

Sure! 338, 50BMG, 6.5 Grendel, 408 Cheyenne tactical (cheytec), 9x23, 5.45x18, and many more.

Realistically I can afford the 6.5 Grendel

I have had many many chances to buy a FN 5.7 (pistol) but just never did. As a reloader I would "have" to reload it and it is more trouble than it's worth. Pretty pricey even used. Actually the factory ammo has not changed price much over the years, still around $20'ish for 50 rounds.Fun to shoot however.

Pistol I'd like a 10mm 610 (yeah, dream in) or a Dan Wesson Razorback.

Rifles: 25-06, 338-06, 6.5 Swede.
Shotgun a 28 O/U, maybe start skeet shooting again.

Dunno what I'd do with any of them, except maybe shoot service rifle with a Swede Mauser.

Ok with a 25-06 I might have to book am antelope hunt.

Just bought a Contender .357 max. The cartridge has always fascinated me. It's a long trip to the nearest IHMSA match, but I love ringing steel at long range. There's NRA silhouette locally, but everyone gets their nose out of joint if you shoot an actual hunting gun (in NRA Hunters Pistol Silhouette.).

I'm not really interested in fiddling with new calibers. My 7.62x54R dies have been sitting since I bought them new 3 years ago.. I love working up accurate loads, but just no time.

Since the family ranch got sold to help pay for moms Alzheimer's care, I don't go woods bumming or hunting anymore, so no need for big bore magnum sixguns to handle feral hogs.

You should really have a 12 GA pump shotgun.

The others you are missing, I could not live without, 30/30 lever action, and 45 LC. Or substitute .44 mag.

The one I want to add .454 casul, there are bigger maybe better big bore revolver rounds out there, but the .454 is a classic, and is the reason I chose .45 LC over .44mag.

I think a revolver and a lever action in 22 WMR.

I wish there was a cz82/83 sized pistol in 7.62x25 tokarev.

Yes I do. I want a 357Sig caliber barrel for my Kel-Tec P-40 pistol.
yes, they were made for it.
I still have two P-40's, and would like the replacement .357 Sig for it.
Many have asked me why I keep a P-40?
The answer is that I like this weapon as one of the fiercest out there.
Yes, it has recoil. About the same recoil as a small frame Smith shooting a 357 Mag cartridge.

I've never owned a .44 Special. I would like to.

Also I haven't been able to hunt for years, but just for S&G I'd love to own a rifle in 7X57 or .257 Roberts. Just because.

For that matter I'd settle for having my fine Remington 700 in .243 or my Marlin 336 in .30-30, both gone for over forty years, back.

I'm toying with the idea of trying a .357 Sig barrel in my M&P40FS. :)

My friend loves the Ruger SP101 in .327 Federal Magnum. He has almost convinced me to buy one for myself. :D

There is the CZ 52 but is a tad longer than a CZ 82/83 but you need the length for the velocity! Plus two hands to pull the trigger!

I really don't see me jumping into another handgun caliber...currently have 22 LR, 7.62 Tok, 38 sp, 38 Super, 357 mag, 357 Sig, 9 mm Luger, 9x18 makarov, 10 mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP, 45 Colt, 41 mag, 44 mag in handguns. I've thought about a bigger bore revolver, but honestly I don't need one, and my hands/wrists are probably better off for my restraint. Maybe someday I'll try a 380 acp pistol, but its really not calling me.

The only handgun calibers I've tried and abandoned are 327 Fed, and 454 Casull.
