Do you think Target Grips look wrong on a K Frame?

My step father gave me a box of goodies last night. Two set of Target K Frame grips were in there. They were off of his duty M19 when he was on the NOPD. I put a set on my M10 and they feel great but it just doesn't look right.

Yes and no. On a taper barrel firearm, YES they look wrong to me.

On something like my 4", M66 NO they look just fine. To me the barrel profile AND length make the most difference with regard to stocks. I also don't are for round butt combats on guns with 6" and longer, full lug barrels. Just not my taste.

I gotta agree with you on this one. As you know, I recently acquired a M10 that came with Targets, I changed to Magnas and I think it looks (and handles) much better.

I have smaller hands and the Magnas just feel better to me. I do think they look good on N frames but I still put Magnas on even those to shoot.

I'm not a big guy but I have big hands and those target grips are perfect for me. Right now, I have three K-frame Smiths with targets. A 66 no-dash, a 617-1, and a 17-5. All look fine to me.

I think targets look right at home on a Model 15 or 19. The adjustable sights seem to balance out the larger grips. Having said that, I prefer magnas for shooting.

6"+ they look good on, but I still like a magna and t grip the best on a k frame and fit me better

not even wild about targets on N frames

You know I really like Targets and I prefer the way they feel but I think the Magnas are really growing on me. I am going to put the Magnas back on my 10-5. I will save the Targets for when I find the 2" M19....yeah right....LOL.

Target looks good on a Model 10 if it has the heavy barrel. The magnas that has the square bottom like comes on the Model 15 looks good also. And then the pc magnas look good also. I have some of all three and change back and forth. Mine is a Model 13 with heavy barrel.

I love targets on a K-frame (especially smooth targets), as long as it is 4-inches or longer. Any shorter and I go with Magna w/ Tyler-T. Looks funny on a snub.

Nothing funny looking about these:

Yeah you guys are all right. I think they don't look good on my M10-5 with the skinny barrel and fixed sights. Maybe if it were a M10-6 or a M15 or M17.

I have a set of targets on my 10-5 four inch skinny barrel. There not on there to look pretty. There on the gun because it is my carry piece. Target grips fit my hands better than anything else, and I shoot it better with them on it.

That is a very good reason to have them on. Do you find it any harder to conceal with the Targets than with the Magnas? I also carry a 10-5 and feel that the Targets fit my hand so much better than the Magnas, but I will admit that I am partial to the way they look with the Magnas.

I don't find it hard to conceal with these grips. It just depends on how you dress. Right now all I do to conceal my gun is wear my long sleeve T shirt, and throw an unbuttoned flannel shirt over it.
