Years ago they built a Bojangles Chicken along one of those popular roadfront strips in front of a large shopping areas. One year we were looking for a Christmas tree I had to run my son into the Bojangles restaurant on the corner for a bathroom break. We were both so appalled at the lack of cleanliness it came up often in gross out conversation. They tore the place down and I was surprised to see that it was another Bojangles store.that they were building. The place had such a reputation remodeling wouldn't not have done any good.

Once I went into a KFC which had a backed up grease trap.
It was several years before I could go into another one!

I was visiting Huntsville AL some years ago and arrived hungry. I inquired at the hotel about a place to eat at 2045. There was much sucking of teeth, I assume because unlike Vegas the sidewalks are rolled up at 1800 sharp. Then one of the girls asked, "Do you like clean?":eek::eek:

Let's just say that this wasn't the "Welcome to Alabama" I was expecting.;)

I was in a convenience store restroom once where if you stood still too long the floor would pull your shoes off. It was a shame because it used to be one of the cleanest places along 26 to stop. I think the place was finally remodeled by a bulldozer.

Worked for a while for a company that cleaned and replaced industrial grease filters.
Got up in the middle of the night to swap filters out before breakfast, clean then repeat the next day.
Not for me, esp. straddling a hot griddle in a Chinese place while the cook greased the surface with the glop the fell out of the hood.

Locally a McDonald's was torn down and a new one was built on that location. My son that works in property management remarked that tearing it down was the only way to get ride of the roaches and rats that lived in the walls and under the concrete slab. Fast food establishments have since been places I avoid!

I think it depends on the owner of the franchise, some don't care and that attitude soon rolls down to the janitor. I've always heard that the top management attitude/outlook on life was always reflected all the way down to the bottom rung of the ladder.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Well there is a old (true) statement that says if you ever had occasion to work in a restaurants kitchen or the space under it you would never eat there.

When I was a apprentice pipefitter we had service contracts with many restaurants in the Albany area I found that to be true.

One day we worked in this large and very popular delicatessen and after what I saw in the crawl space under the kitchen I gave up eating there.

They made those NY city type huge delli sandwiches and the place was always packed. I saw a lot in that place but when we went into the crawl space under the kitchen to attempt to find a leaking pipe when the lights were turned on I would estimate that about a million cockroaches and large critters all stared moving. My boss even said tha was the worst he ever saw and canceled the contract due to safety issues.

Found a great seafood place in Huntsville between getting off the interstate for gas and Larry’s pistols and pawn shop. And it was clean too.

A sports talk show host gave some good advice on his show years ago. He said when you go into a new eating establishment check out the restrooms first. If they are dirty find yourself another place to eat.

You were being welcomed, to avoid the ban hammer.... I refuse to translate.:)

One of the reasons I own a motor home for my travels. I have my own bathroom and my own bedroom with me plus are own kitchen.
If there’s one thing I can’t stand is having to use a public restroom. The only place that I feel comfortable with using them is at Disneyworld, they are kept spotless and constantly cleaned! ;)
With the MH no mater where I am I can pull pull over, use the bathroom and even wash my hand with hot water, soap and a towel and a towel to dry!,none of those lousy hand dryers! ;)
So I guess when my motor home goes, so ends my travels!
