Do you watch "Rasslin"?

I always ask people that get upset about wrestling not being real " Do you think John Wayne was really killing those Indians?"
Waldo....Don't tell me that about John Wayne.....You've runied my day.

In the 50's it was Killer Kowalski and the "claw hold". We also had Haystack Calhoun and a few other colorful characters. Back then it was........NOT

Hey rewster,
Do you remember Jack Dempseys Arena that used to be out out on rt. 146?

Pedro Morales, Chief Jay Strongbow, George "The Animal" Steel, Andre the Giant, etc. And who could forget the midgets? Sky-Low-Low was the one name I remember. Those guys were great fun to watch!

I actually met "The Animal" while I was on a detail at the Civic Center here. I met him backstage, and told him that he was one of my childhood heroes. He never got out of character (he had the green tongue and all! Mumbled some words/giberish, and signed an autograph for me. I heard that he was actually a math teacher somewhere. Too funny!

Growing up here in central Texas during the 70s it was almost a requirement. We had the Von Erichs in Dallas and their organization. Every Saturday night it was broadcast on what was then an independent station. My grandfather never missed it and my brother and I spent a lot of our time with our grandparents. Come to think of it I am currently living in the same house.

I would be ashamed of myself if I watched it or NASCAR. It would be admitting that I had so little imagination that I needed these to entertain myself.
I'd rather read a good book.
