Wondering where dates of manufacture for my HD S&Ws can be looked up. Some of you have catalogs, it seems, where this is recorded. All mine were bought new so know approximate dates, but were they even older than that when I bought them?

Serial numbers deleted. Will look them up myself after I buy the catalog some day. Thanks, all.

Thanks

I guess I really don't want to know that badly ($28.37) after all, Alan. Ask a stupid question... Appreciate your input, though. Guess I mostly learned about why I don't generally feel any desire to post here.;)

Bill, impatience with this forum is not productive. When you post a specific question, let it simmer for a few days. You will get what you're after. I have the book, just now saw your post, and can't answer your question(s). Joe

I agree!

Great bunch of ladies and gentlemen here who were very helpful when I first joined. Glad they prodded me into buying the SCSW too. I've used it many, many times and got many hours of enjoyment from the reading of it and drooling over the pictures.

Bill, I saw your post before you edited it.

I asked someone who has the "Book" and I can tell you that the years that you mentioned, 1979, 1983, 1984, and 2001 match the serial numbers that you listed. Hope that helps.

Standard Catalog

You might want to contact your local library to see if they have a copy of the catalog. If so, it would give you a chance to see what is in there without investing.
The Catalog is good reading IMHO.

My apologies, I thought you might have found the reference useful. It was not my intention to discourage you.
