With all the madness related to sales of firearms, magazines, and ammo I find myself wondering if I am looking at a car with no tires on it. There are still some mods I would like to do but ask myself do I want to put more into it. I was on active duty the entire period of the '94 ban so I do not have a historical perspective to base my decision. Once I started pursing my personal firearm ownership there were no restrictions besides the NFA of 1934. Now every place I look is either bare shelves, long waits, out of stock, or ridiculous prices. For those who remember the ban and can provide a historical perspective or for those who just want to chime in... Is this one of those ride the storm out deals or am I looking at putting everything on blocks, sitting on the front porch saying yeah they look good, I remember when they had tires and how fun they were to take out for a ride.

This is probably not in the right section for this as "some" mods are quick to move threads not related to the M&P 15-22

I'm waiting it out as well hoping that things calm down.
I understand the urgency people have about buying ammo, clips, and firearms. The fear is that the current administration, backed by a senate majority, and an oposing party in disarray, may try for a home run...an outright ban.
Sen. Diane Feinstein already said her bill would ban the sale, possession, transportion of assault weapons and handguns. The liberals have also talked about requiring the license (and taxing of course) of various firearms.
We'll be lucky if all that happens is a reinstatement of the 1994 assault weapons ban.

I'm not convinced they will have the votes needed to pass anything in the first place. Like a roll of the dice. And in the Heller ruling the court stated that banning 1 class of firearms is unconstitutional.
Although frankly I think our side can do a lot more than their side ever will when it comes to preventing mass shootings, I don't think enough of us think ahead enough, or think outside of our box enough, to do so. We are stubborn, we are too unwilling to consider new ideas. We have an opportunity to determine our future right now, but I think we will waste it.
All I see is another pointless ban on things like 30 rounders, folding stocks, and flash supressors. Maybe. More measures, in other words, governing those of us who do, legislated by those who don't.

OK, I posted in the 15-22 section since that is rifle I was referring to.

wait it out in 2 weeks the hysteria will calm down and you'll see everything back on the shelves,in the mean time if you run across mags etc at normal prices by all means buy them but dont get takin in by all the panic buying, its my opinion all we are looking at worst case is mag restrictions or no internet gun or ammo sales

I want to buy some parts for a rifle that I am building and just can't believe that the suppliers say out of stock on most all parts. Some businesses say on their web sites to don't even call them for a couple of weeks.

I would think the manufacture's of parts would start to crank out parts round the clock.

Maybe the businesses are going to add 75% to their prices.

Amazing what 2 Murder"s can do to the country.

Cranking out parts

I spoke to one manufacture; they are more than willing to crank out products its the supply of materials to make the product that is causing delays. I would imagine that other manufacture's are in a similar situation.

Wouldn't those two dead scumball dirtbag unholy pieces of.....dirt....just love it if they caused the USA to change it's constitutional rights based on their inhuman acts? It would kinda make their names go down in history, wouldn't it? Do you think the folks back east would recognize that is what they would be doing?
