I will add a few thoughts ...
The opinion that the SKS in significantly better than the Kalashnikov is wishful thinking, unless comparing the best SKS with the worst AK. No modern day rifle platform is more time-tested and reliable than the latter. While the SKS may be a solid rifle, it has been problematic with firing pin issues, and is not in any way as durable as the AK. An unconverted SKS will function fine with a stripper clip, but the AK is considerably more user friendly and effective.
Century is notorious for its subpar offerings. That is not Internet rumor nor urban legend. Canted barrels are a specialty of Century, and far too many Century projects are referred to as "monkey builds" for a reason.
Milled vs. stamped: Saiga has done quite well with its products, as has VEPR and a host of other companies producing stamped receivers. Milled receivers are a luxury to many, with stamped receivers being the prevailing norm in the AK market. Unless the entire rifle is a cheaply assembled piece of generic garbage, stamped receivers are as good as milled, and often more cost effective. Find someone who has compromised a stamped receiver through honest use ... he will probably be the first.
While we can agree to disagree, emphatically stating the SKS to be universally superior to the Kalashnikov is simply misguided partisanship, and not supported by fact.
