Does anyone shoot anything other than 9mm?

Of course: .38/.357, .45 Auto, .45 Colt, .44 Special, .38 WCF, .44 WCF, .38 Super, .30 Carbine, .30-06, .308, .40-60 Marlin......and if course, .22 LR.

Pistol/ revolver, I shoot .410, .357 mag., .38spl, 9MM, .32acp., .22 LR.

Rifle, I shoot .223/5.56, .308, 30-06, 300 black out, .22 LR. and .22 mag.

I haven't Shot nothing for the last 5 years due to major heart problems. When I did shoot it was 9mm and 22lr out of my wheel guns. I'm just getting back into it and it looks like 38 short colt, 38 special, along with 22lr. are my main rounds to shoot. The 38 Short is the same size as a 9mm and can be loaded hot to power puff with the wheel gun. Everyone has a different diet of rounds they like. I go to the range and see guys with their tupperware guns shooting 100+ 9mm rounds in 10 to 20 minutes with no two rounds hitting within a inch of each other. I check how I hold the gun and place the finger on the trigger. Hope everyone stay safe and shoot like you have some respect for the others in the lanes next to you.

IMG_2169.jpegI like the .357 mag for range and sport.
But for self defense I go with 9mm,38 and .380

economics....

picked up some cases of Federal AE 147 & 124 jacketed 9mm last fall...$10.99 box. Thats what it cost me to reload (if I were to use jacketed bullets).

but it's still one of my least favorite calibers

At my clubs' outdoor ranges we are required to "police your brass"

I usually shoot .45ACP, 10mm, .40 S&W from various semi-autos; (I'm more concerned about what 4 legged animals I encounter in the woods than anything. with 2 legs) I shoot .44Magnum/Special, .41Magnum, and .357/.38 from revolvers so when emptying the cylinder spent cases go right into a coffee can. I only own one small 9mm that is a pain in the neck to clean, but carries discreetly and has always worked well so I rarely shoot it. I sold my High-Powers and P-1's (aluminum P-38). The Hi-Powers bit me and the P-1's were not accurate. Only the recoil from the .44 Magnum is bothersome.

I own .380's, a .32, and .25's but I rarely shoot them. I rarely carry them. They are nice, well made guns that I only use when I have to dress up.
I mostly shoot .22LR at our indoor range from one of my several .22 revolvers. Most have 5" barrels, but one, a 317, has a 3" barrel and is described by some as a "kit gun". It is difficult to shoot and hard to be accurate with, but it is very easy to have in a butt pack or fishing vest.

I have two semi-auto .22's, one that I keep around to teach new shooters about malfunctions. The other is a Colt Match Target that my beat up paws and aging eyes can no longer match the guns accuracy. I'm hanging onto it for my grandson(or granddaughter), he's 4, she's 2.

I shoot and reload for .38 Special, .357 mag and 9mm, I seemed to be a revolver type guy. I do have a Springfield XDM full size in 9mm, but also have a S&W 4" Model 10-5, a 6" 586 nickel in .357 mag. and a 8 3/8" Model 14-4 in .38 Special.
With the Model 14 I can now play Dirty Harry with out breaking my wrist. lol

I shoot a 9MM. Not near as much as my 6 sixguns but I do shoot one & enjoy it.

Of course you do! It’s a rhetorical question leading to my range observations.

I belong to a rather large out door range & club that also open to the public.

It’s interesting to observe how much things have changed over the years. 9mm was once an oddball cartridge seen only on rare occasion by those exercising their Lugers, P-38 ‘s HiPowers and other war trophies.

Now it’s about the only spent cartridge cases seen on the range. Even outnumbering the popular 22.

40 caliber another interesting case. Once popular and abundant, is now very seldom seen on the ground. Oddly, I am seeing and recovering a fair bit of 10mm.

About the only other classic cases I see in quantity is 45 ACP.

Other classics like 38 special, 357 and 44, turn up but seldom and in very small quantities.

Diminutive calibers such as 25, 32 ACP & 32 swl are now rarities. Even 380 has become uncommon.

I see a lot of newbie shooters on the various pistol ranges. Almost invariably with a brand new, compact 9mm. And, are often a greater danger to themselves and others on the firing line than the targets down range at 7 yards.

Seems nobody starts with a 22 to develop basic skills anymore.

I keep an extra one and ammo in my range kit. Loaned it many times to a new shooter or couple that couldn’t control their featherweight 9mm. They’ve always been appreciative and immediately show improved results.
I think your observations are correct. I shoot several calibers, 9mm, 40 SW, 10 mm, .45, 44 mag, and a couple more all the way to hand canons. 9mm is a lot of fun but 40 is more potent. I'd compare these two to a 7 mag and a 300 mag. Both very good but one is a bit more powerful. The 10mm is a superb round.

38 special because it's what I carry most, 380 alternate carry, 9mm because it's cheap and fun, 357 cause it's fun, 22 for cheap fun; in that order

My EDCs are a RIA 38 Spl snubbie and a switchblade. My wife carries a Beretta 80X Cheetah 380 Auto.
We got rid of our 9mms a long time ago.

I have an AR pistol/sbr and a Glock 44 in 22LR. I shoot them as much (by round count) as my 223 and 9mm ARs and my (most usual) daily carry Glock 9mms.
