Does LMT make the 15-22 fixed sights?

I keep looking over to my fixed sights and wondering whether LMT makes them.

They look pretty much identical and they function well. The factory sights are pretty nice.

My caliper shows that the height of the sights is compatible with other AR15 sights.

So maybe LMT does make them?

At $119 and $49 respectively? I don't think so.

It would be cheaper for S&W to put the Magpul folding sights on all 15-22 models. My guess is they get them from someone else.

it is possible they pay a fraction of that considering how many they are purchasing. i'd doubt they pay anything near retail.

I would think that they could get the units from Mako or Leapers/UTG. They look the same and have an MSRP of about $50.

From working in an maufacturing environment for many years, my experience is that I don't think S&W would be buying qtys large enought to be getting a 50% discount from a place like LMT.

I'm guessing they are buying from another company with a lower initial cost or making the parts themselves.

the price we pay for things in a retail market has absolutely no bearing on what they are actually worth and is in no way related to what other manufacturers pay when you are talking about doing business between themselves. there are a few large AR manufacturing companies that make other companies lowers all in the same factory on the same machines and the price ranges on those lowers in a retail market vary DRASTICALLY! just something to keep in mind...

Now that I'm looking at it again it looks like the Leapers front sight. My front sight has a channel through it.

i would imagine it's possible. i've seen m&p 15 sights branded s&w that looked like the folding troy ones. i wouldn't be shocked if they purchased a variety of sights and other parts from most of the major suppliers. it would seem silly to redesign something already available in bulk. you gotta figure they are buying 100s if not 1000s of units which probably have no packaging at a huge discount.
