I've sent my guns to manufacturers for repairs a few times (S&W & Ruger) never filled warranty cards and issues were fixed every time; if you want "peace of mind" - fill in warranty card.
My guess would be the factory would not question a legitimate repair request on a new gun (i.e., one with the cylinder and topstrap still intact ), but having the original sales receipt documenting you bought it would confirm matters for them, even if you didn't submit the warranty card.
Thanks guys, nothing is wrong with it , I was just curious. I starting reading old threads on here last night and it got me thinking. Mainly top strap cutting. Would they replace gun if top strap got unsafe?
Just reading old posts about top strap cutting. Do they replace gun if top strap becomes unsafe? Mine has a small 1\2 inch mark on strap ,so I am guessing I have a ways to go before it even becomes a concern.thanks guys
Flame cutting with many Magnum revolvers tends to progress to a certain point, then stops (presuming you are not using large numbers of thermonuclear .500 loads). Something to monitor but likely will not reach the point of a structural issue.
Never had anyone ask, not that I've had problems that often. Long ago Para Ordnance fixed a gun for free that was already fixed before I owned it and on an expired warranty. Another time Glock sent me a whole new gun even though I wasn't the original owner and only because they found some slight rust specks
