Is is possible to find a Model 19 that is pinned and recessed that was made in 1981 (my birth year)? I know that was the transition period but could i really find one?

Unicorn? Lots of 19-4s out there.

91K prefix to 124K should be about right.

Yes. And you likely can find you choice of common barrel lengths too.
IIRC, the -4 was transitional model from pinned to non-pinned.

thanks for the replies. i was always told the transition guns would typically have one or the other but hardly ever both. looks like i can find what im looking for.

All 19-4's will have a recessed cylinder, late produced versions will not have the barrel set pin.
