Nope! If a pit had your dog by the neck it would be dead or you'd be using a breaker bar to get that pit off if it was a serious attack. No way that story happened as you say. Pits, once activated on fight scenario, don't just "let go" by yelling at them.

Good luck, but it sounds your dog's owner needs some training and fencing.
