Dog Experts - Need help identifying mixed breed

He reminds me of Otis the wonder dog-only about 50 pounds lighter. We think Otis is lab with a little pit bull in him. Otis ws a rescue-some SOB shot him through and through with an arrow that missed everything important-how in the hell that happened is a mystery, but he has grown old and fat for the past 8 years and frequently appears on the forum.
Here he is getting ready to attack

You sure do have a good looking new best buddy there. The hind legs seem to have a bit of a german shepherd shape. Maybe a little of that in him too.

Bob

I was thinking g. shephard, too.

I would say he is 100% purenteed American, just like most of the rest of us.

Good job on rescuing him.

Dogs with characteristics similar to those of your new pet have been termed "World Dogs" since they are found in every major city and every country in the world. They are usually in the 20-30 lb weight range, short hair, light tan, long muzzle, long tail with "feathers" that curl up over the back. Their lineage is impossible to trace since they are a result of eons of interbreeding. They are highly intelligent, self sufficient and social animals and are to be treasured when you have one of them. Your new friend looks to have many of those characteristics and I predict a long and close relationship.

Bless you for saving a life!

No idea what that handsome boy might be. If you're really interested they have DNA tests they can do. Jury is out on the accuracy of them. Some experienced dog people have had them done & kinda shake their heads at some of the results...

Love the crossed paws photo! Looks like he's made himself right at home.:)

From the tail action in the first photo, and the "at home" crossed legs of the second photo, he's whatever you want him to be! Congrats on your new best friend - all our pets have been rescue animals, and they have all been special .
