Dog Goes Nuts!

I don't get it. My Boston Terrier acts like my elderly, 87 year old, father is made of a giant piece of fried bacon when he comes over. She jumps on her hind legs over and over again. He doesn't react when he comes in the door and many times will fold his arms and turn away from her.He does have a Dachshund, so I know that its scent is a factor. I try to get her to sit and stay. Normally she is very well behaved and does a variety of tricks and obeys basic commands. I can take her out to the country and turn her loose on a friend's farm and she will chase ducks, but will stop and come running when called. What's up?

Ask your father if he is giving your dog treats behind your back. Kinda like spoiling the grandkids as a payback for being a rotten little kid! hehe!

Dogs

My son has a Jack Russel that does the same thing to me. I don't particularly like dogs. I have always had them on the farm but as tools not pets. A veterinarian friend says that animals can sense when they are not liked and go out of their way to make you change your mind. I used believe they go out of their way to irritate you. However the more I'm around the Jack Russel the better I treat him and he has not let up yet.

She is always happy to see visitors and pretty much looses it, but with him she is way over the top. He tries to get her to stop jumping and such. After a few minutes she calms down, but in the mean time it's Katy bar the door!

My ex had a yorkshire terrier she named Teddy and when we split she left him behind. I started to call him Ted the demon dog. He was fine when the kids came around but as soon as a stranger came over, look out, he went nuts. Running back and forth and jumping up and down with his eyes bugging out until he was exhausted. Drove me crazy! He was an expensive dog but I finally got one of my daughters to find someone who would just take him. Gosh I hated that dog. It's like he was possessed.
