Women in Oklahoma was shot in thigh she was passenger per report.When dog jumped from rear seat to front seat and some how hit the center console and firearm fired . Hitting women in thigh. Story a bit sketchy no make or model of firearm mentioned or if it was just sitting on top of consel or inside it. No mention make or model of vechiel

Below is a link to the story. It was a .22 semiauto under the folding console in the back seat. "It wasn't usually kept loaded."

Not only was it loaded, there was one in the chamber. Why have it on the back seat? Story has been sanitized by the participants if you ask me.

I'd bet the same amount that something really dumb and borderline criminal happened, and that the story was made up. We will likely never know for sure, and at least there was some karmic punishment.

It's actually not that uncommon among your various duck/pheasant/grouse/whatever hunters.

It is extremely rare around the people I hunt with. My belief simple. A safety isn't safe. Gun don't leave my hands with a shell in the chamber. Exception hand guns in holsters
