Here's my group while taking a picture for Christmas Cards.
We've always had Dachsunds since my grandpaw used to
raise/breed them for extra spending money. They are a very
loyal breed. The middle dog is "Rudy" he was a rescue dog
from the pound. Part pomeranian, schitzu, and something else.
The 2 dachsunds are "country girl" the piebald, and gretchen
the black/tan. Those who are not dog people i just don't quite
understand.

These are my entertainment every day. Kage(cinnamon) and Max(black). They were pretty easy to figure out. Max is smaller (67lbs), smart, fast, and agile and Kage is just big (86lbs), dumb, and strong lol. I love these guys. They are brothers and pure-bred Chow-Chows.

9 weeks old

My two Doxies...Angel, a "tweenie" and Molly, a mini. Angel went to the Rainbow Bridge two years ago. I adopted her from a Doxie rescue where she was turned in as a stray. She had a lot of health issues and was at least 10 y/o when I got her, but she turned out to be the sweetest dog. I honestly believe that adopted rescue dogs show a special kind of love and appreciation to their new owners for giving them a home. The younger one in the photo is Molly. She's 8 now and has been with me since she was one. She's my shadow.

Since we lost our Golden back in '08 my wife has decided that she doesn't want to become attached to another dog.......so I have to get my "dog-fix" in other ways. I do some volunteering for a local shelter...Dec 1 & 2 I put on a Santa suit and sat for pet pictures.... here's a link to the pics on the shelter's facebook page...hope the link works.

That is one heck of an idea, I am going to pass that along to the group I am associated with. Thanks for posting.
Could be a great fund raiser. Your doing some fine work there in PA.

Here is Cooper. I got "the look" when I pulled into the parking lot at the vet's office!! Guess I should have told him first ;)

and this our newest adoptee "Jed". He is safe @ feeling secure in our home now. I got his vet records in the mail since my thread about adopting him. If you knew the treatments & procedures that he's been through............. Well, he is home now!

Both are adoptees from the Basset Hound Rescue here in Georgia.

Charles, Great pics of your Bassets. When I was a kid in Atlanta some bleep had a pup in the meter room at her apt. The poor thing was eating his own. Us kids took to feeding him but he was in poor shape. We told one of our dog loving friends about it and he jumped all over it. Thus that pup became "Happy" and he had the best life with lots of friends.

I will always remember Happy.

This is former foster Buddy. He came to the rescue from a hoarding situation. He celibrated his third Gotcha! day this week.

In his forever home Dec '09. The cat looks like Buddy's smaller sibling. Their markings are almost identical!
