dog thread

The 3rd member of our trio:

Champ is a Golden/Chow mix that I "found" when he was about 5-6 weeks old. I answered a call to a residence where the homeowner woke up on Saturday morning to find a litter of abandonded puppies in her front yard. She was a dog lover. But,she was also active duty army home on leave for just a few days and no way to keep them. Between me ,animal control, and a few neighbors, they all found homes. That was 7 years ago. He is an absolute lunatic. But, he is our sweet lovable lunatic!

This is her with the neighbor dog Dawkins. The dogs like each other so much we decided to put a gate in the fence that separates the yards. It has gotten to the point now where they both come and go as they please between both houses.

This is my brothers Golden Charlie Brown, luckily he gets along with the neighbor dog as well.

When Audi isn't playing, at the neighbors, or sleeping she is on watch duty.

This is Fiona. I can't get the new Rottweiler puppy Dozer to stand still long enough to get a picture!

Edit - I got Dozer to stand still for a few 3 month old pics.

Edit AGAIN - Several people have contacted me via PM and asked more about our current dogs. Fiona (on the left) is a spayed 2 1/2 year old Dobermann female that we "rescued" from a couple that had to vacate their current apartment and move into one that doesn't allow pets. We've had Fiona for about 2 years now. Dozer is a 3 month old Rottweiler that we traveled out of state to purchase. His tail is still on because after Germany changed their laws in 2003 (I believe) and outlawed tail docking and ear cropping, many of the better breeders in this country that breed strong German lines stopped docking (even though the AKC still calls for it in their breed standard). I wasn't sure if I would like the tail on or not but I'm already liking it that way. Thanks to all that inquired!

When God had made the Earth and sky, The flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals And all the birds and bees.
And when his work was finished, Not one was quite the same.
He said, 'I'll walk this earth of mine, And give each one a name,'
And so he travelled land and sea, And everywhere he went,
A little creature followed Him Until his strength was spent.
And when all were named upon the Earth, And in the sky and sea,
The little creature said,'Dear Lord, There's not one left for me!'
The Father smiled and softly said: 'I've left you till the end.
I've turned my own name back to front, And called you DOG, my friend.

And this. Recently, an abandoned dog came into a nativity scene, looking for a place to find shelter from the cold. No one had the heart to move him. I hope he's since found his master or a forever home.

This picture touched me. The dog sure looks like my Princess, Kaiser's adopted mother who I rescued about four years ago!
