dog thread

Some say dogs don't have feelings, or that they don't have a "sixth sense" when something is wrong. I'd have to differ on those opinions. About 4 1/2 years ago, our old dog Jessie was suffering from a stroke/extreme dementia, and we had scheduled her for a final visit to the vet the next day. She finally managed to get some sleep, and we wrapped her in a blanket to keep her comfortable. Joe, our pit bull mix, who then was then still just a puppy, came over to her and gently placed his head on her. He knew that something was wrong with his buddy, and he did all he could to comfort her. You can just barely see it in the folds of the blanket, but Joe had brought her his favorite chew toy. He stayed close to her all that night.

Screen got a little misty there, darned allergies.....

Quite the crew you have now my friend! That's a basket full o' love right there

Ahhhhhh....puppy breath!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D Good work Fish!!!

Pete

The puppies are with another foster. So far the only pics I have are from the rescue.

Jarina got spayed today. She's a bit groggy still, but maybe she'll get used to her crate this way. She didn't exactly enjoy it last night. Luckily she is housetrained so we trust her to spend the night with us out of the crate. I almost stepped on her getting out of bed!

She slipped her E collar this evening while I was in the garage for a smoke. Wife was dozing in her chair & I came back in to no dog and an E collar laying on the floor. I was kind of frantic because the front door had been open for awhile. Searched the house. No Jarina.

Finally found her behind the TV stand.

She is is pregant and due NYD. Being she and the stud, both form total champ lines, both had a red parent, I am hoping for 1/4 reds and to keep a red male for schutzhund training

Update to my last post... Maggie had 3 pups, one of thiose stillborn as the pups were so big, she had to have a C-section. Guess those 3 pups got all the nutrients.

I kept a male. His name is Cain, and he is now 16 weeks and 50 lb! His ears are already standing pretty good, but I'll be posting until 7 or 8 months. He is headed for the show ring and probably agility comp. His dad is a champion and 92 lb. Here's my not-so-little man

Here's my pit bull mix Joe again - my buddy. His blue eyes come from his mother, an Australian cattle dog. I did this picture as a color extraction black and white to accentuate those eyes!

John

Maybe you mean Aussie Shepherd? Aussie Cattle Dogs have brown eyes. Blue eyes are not unusual in the Shepherds.

Joe's a very handsome boy. :D

Meet Jarina. She was (I believe) picked up as a stray. She got pulled from the shelter in the nick of time. She was preggo & was about to be PTS.

Jarina got adopted last weekend! We now have another foster named Shy Boy. I'll try to get some pics. Now that I'm working again the schedule gets kinda full.

This is Alice. We've had her about a year and a half. prior to that, she spent 6 months in a shelter after being picked up as a stray along with one of her puppies. I suspect she is an abandoned puppy mill breeder because she had never seen snow prior to coming to us. She is coming around to being a real beagle and in the last 6 months has become bunny crazed. In our last 3 walks she has busted 10 bunnies.

Steeler and Ruger ( I know, Smith and Wesson was to long!). Actually have fine guns in both. They are hunting machines.
