"Don't Cry For Me, Argentina": Brightman

I also think it is a great song. However I also remember a photo of a British troopship that had a banner on the side as it sailed, headed to the Falklands: "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina--Because We're Coming To Beat the Hell Out Of You"...

Yeah after watching that video and a couple of other Sarah Brightman videos I concluded that my laptop speakers don't do her voice justice! What a voice on that one.

Here's Brightman singing the title song from her, "Harem" CD. The video was made by a Dutch girl, a fan of the late TV show, "Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World" and features the three girls from the big treehouse on that show: Marguerite, Veronica, and Finn.

I also enjoyed the above posts of Jackie Evancho. She looks a LOT like my granddaughter did at that age. (The GD is now 17. Doesn't sing, but writes well and is a talented site designer. Very sophisticated, drolly witty, too.)

A beautiful, talented girl.

This is my favorite of her:

it brings tears to my eyes, everytime.

I have a reason for feeling the same way. My twin brother said he wanted it to be played at his funeral. We thought that would be a long way off, but sadly he died in 2007. I addressed the mourners at the funeral, then said, as I looked at his watch which I was wearing "Sadly it now really is time to say goodbye". Tears were flowing. We then played the song. I couldn't listen to it for some time after that. It still brings tears to my eyes. I am listening to it as I type this.

I love all of her music, but this song will always be very special. I would love to have it played at my funeral. I hope I am not tempting fate by saying this.
