Don't forget to send your tea bags on April 1st to The White House – 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, DC 20500 – I Think it's best to just send the label, as the post office may not deliver as the contents it may be considered a security risk. I am sending one to The White House and to each of my House and Senate Reps. I taped the label to a "serious" but polite note explaining this symbolic gesture – adding my disgust for passing legislation (without reading it) to justify actions not favoring either our Country or its citizens… Do It! You'll be glad you did.

I think they need to hear it and I can't imagine any tax payer that wouldn't be pissed off about their elected officials giving away several trillion dollars of taxpayer money without reading the details.

Frankly, I think this is one very big waste of time but I'm sure the Secret Service and the USPS will have a gay old time of it that day. Likely none will make it even into the White House let alone into the Oval Office!!!

can i afford to send the tea leaves,,with goverment giving all the chit away, and the post office wanting too raise the price again..makes me wonder..why does anyone need 6 day delivery...wouldnt 3 be enough..at least two days a week all I get is trash mail, and the others most of it is trash ..do away with six day delivery

For what it's worth...I have been told that only the paper label on the end of the tea bag string should be sent. The Post Office scans all White House mail for foreign objects, so any tea bags will be rejected and not make it to Washington.

Anyone remember the Klinton years? How they used the IRS against political enemies? Send your tea bags, but get your financials in order for your upcoming audit.

It is too bad so many feel the way you do, that is what got us where we are today... and where we are headed.

Pete; It's not a "feeling" it is a matter of "Reality" considering all the things that have been sent through the mail system in the Past few Years - bombs, Anthrax etc. - even the idea that crops up nearly every Year about sending a Christmas Card to an injured Soldier at a Military Hospital simply doesn't work because they won't make it past the screening process!!!

But, you do whatever you "need" to do and whatever makes you feel "Warm and Fuzzy". But, you might also remember that this "envelope" is now considered a "Package" since it contains something other than a piece of paper and the USPS 'might' just return it to you if you don't put enough Postage on it to get it through their System!

I do agree that sending the tea bag would be problematic, that's why suggested to send only the label taped to a note. Also, I think is worth remembering that in the not too distant past, our letters, emails and phone calls netted excellent results - that, in my opinion, is what we need to continue doing.

I agree that the teabags or labels will not actually be dropped on the presidents desk. However, that really isn't the point, is it? Regardless of whether they are delivered or diverted to a land fill in New Jersey the point will have been made. That (hopefully) millions of Americans, by that simple gesture, have shouted out that they had had enough. Even if they hide the actual number in their spin machine they will know. More important, they will know that it is easier to cast a ballot than to mail a teabag. THAT is the point.
Rant Off.

Thank you sir.

I think it will also do as much (or more) good to show up at one of the Tea Party rallies on or around April 15th. They are scheduled all over the country. The MSM is ignoring them, but I believe that they are having an effect.

My financial ducks are already in a row.You see, unlike those pinheads in Washington, I PAY my damned taxes.

Given the politicians and media's level of knowledge of American history, I forsee the headline on CNN:
"President Obama and Nancy Pelosi thank the millions of worshipping constituents who show their unlimited adoration with sacrifices and offerings of tea".

Further, Oldfella your mail will get to everyone but possibly the White House. While our Country is in a tail spin, the mail does still get delivered to it's intended recipient doesn't it? Are you trying to say that a paper tea bag label would keep the letter to my Senator from getting through to him?

I don't know if it will have any impact, but if enough people do it, it will catch their attention. The Country is so complacent that when a large enough outcry does happen, it gets their attention (if only for a little bit). And a actual letter (vs e-mail) is still more effective because it shows effort. Similar to going to a rally. Sending an e-mail is pretty low down on the attention grabbing scale.

No, on the contrary - the tea bag itself my prevent the letter from being delivered. This is why, I think, it's best to send just the label taped to a "nice" polite note.

Pete

Lets keep going fellers. Send your tea bag labels with a "nice" note to the Pres. and all of your Reps in Congress. Thanks.

Pete

It's in the mail! Even sent a total of 5, all with a note AND a return address label. I also sent 5 with the return address of a neighbor who voted for Obama...seemed like the right thing to do.....
