Don't Hate Me - 17rd Magazines?

Hang in there. I got two 17rd 9's from Botach early December for $46 shipped. Just have to keep calling till you get a real person there. Good Luck.

Most of the time this is where i get my mags from. Excellent price and $5 flat rate shipping. Ive ordered up to 5 mags at a time and never paid over $5 for shipping

x2 for Greg. my first choice fro S&W mags.

I found two 17 rounders and a 12 rounder today for my 9c also. Scooped up the 17's but not the 12. $45 but hey, only place within 100 miles that had them.

I just got off the phone with my LGS owner who just so happens to be one of my neighbors. He said that he has two New 17 round OEM S&W magazines for an M&P. From the sounds of it, they are from his personal supply. He said that he would part with them for $65 each. I know the price is high, but just keep that in mind if you cant find any. I can either buy them from him and sell them, or he could just sell them.

I just got an email from 44 Mag that they had them in stock. But when I clicked on the link, the price was $59.99. No thanks. I thought they were a reputable company. I may never order from them again.

Before writing off 44 mag there is a possibility there was a price increase from the supplier.

This is Econ 101. Demand has out paced supply so the intersect (demand and supply crosses) has shifted making the product more expensive.

Impact Guns did the same thing with XD 45 magazines. After I ordered my magazines for $26 (best quality magazine for the price in my opinion) jumped to $34.

This is the only item in the "Russian rush to stock up on firearm related things" I got in on...I've got 4 17 rd mags (bought sometime in Oct/Nov). But TOTALLY missed the AR-15 and 9mm ammo rush. Glad I had a little stash of ammo to last me until the shelves are stocked again in a month or two.

Out here in the Peoples Republic of California, when they have gun shows, you can buy Magazine repair kits for just about any gun or rifle, in any configuration, 10 rd, 20, 30? Since we are limited to 10rd mags, they get away with it by selling them unassembled, so as you walk to your car you can slide in the spring and click in the base of the clip and voila! you have what ever you need.

I wouldn't count on that being something you can do in the future. I'm not saying I agree with it (banning so-called "high capacity" magazines) but I think that will happen. It won't solve anything, but that is those congress-critters for you...name one thing they have ever solved here lately.

I seriously doubt S&W raised their prices that much. $10 I could overlook.
But the price they posted is double the previous price. I refuse to buy into the panic and feed the vendors who are taking advantage of the situation. When the smoke clears, I'll have a clear understanding of who will get my future dollars.

do the LGS thing. I went to a gun show on my first saturday off (drove 40 minutes to pasadena, tx) and saw them. they were 80 dollars each for m&p 9 17rd'ers. I mean I knew it was going to be unreasonable but didn't think it was going to be THAT unreasonable. then I learned that's what they go for on gunbroker.

then I randomly checked 2 gun stores on the way home and they both had a couple in stock for 39 dollars. i just picked one up, don't really need a bunch.

so give it a shot. the lgs's i went to are kinda out of the way, not really in the city. might have good luck there.

Still looking, if anyone hears of any leads.

My order with S&W had technical difficulties on ~their~ end, so I had to reorder and was placed at the end of the line.

Did you get to keep the original price you started with ?

I got all mine way before all this hit. I bought mine when they were hard to get because they were so new. Also had a $50. rebate or two free mags when you bought an M&P. Ammo was also WAY cheaper.

Good luck in your hunt. Hopefully all this will settle down soon and things will get back to half way normal again.

I'm on the look for 1-8 also. I have ammo, money and AR lower for trade if anyone has some to get rid of.
