I guess it depends on where you live. Wanna be in some out of the way place with your thousand acres, scenery, solitude, and the nearest Costco 200 miles away, pay up.

ladder. I WOULD NOT trade my out of the way place on my acres for a million dollar house in city/town.........Ain't gonna happen. Here it's dark at night. No light pollution. You can see the stars. I'll drive/OOL if needed and not available locally.

Lot of people love to hate on Amazon, but without them I would be dealing with rude obnoxious and 'entitled' people at the brick and mortar stores. Much easier and much safer to shop Amazon... Other than food and ammo it's Amazon for me and I give them much credit for selling firearms related items.
For the most part they are cheaper than local stores, and they bring it to me.. can't beat that.

Amazon stopped having the lowest prices 20 years ago. You’re buying fast delivery, not low prices.

I blame that on the greedy states threatening to bar all Amazon business unless Amazon collected taxes.

Why is it that the tax money grabbers are never mentioned when price differences are discussed?? Ever wonder why people will drive across a state border to save 50 cents/gallon on fuel??...same goes for alcohol and tobacco.

Another benefit of Amazon Prime not mentioned is if you get a Prime Credit Card and use it with your online orders, you get an automatic 5% credit that can be used for anything else on Amazon.
(The 5% is also given on anything else you charge on the card...
Gasoline, food, anything put on the card....)
I pay the card off every month, so the are no interest charges..win/win.

Please so yourself a favor and just check competitive prices on larger purchases. Getting 5% credit ($13.00) or saving $135 on a $260 vacuum cleaner - you decide.

It so happens that I am currently looking for a new vacuum cleaner.
So far I haven't found anything even close to that kind of savings other than on some off-brand makes that I know nothing about.
Of course I live miles from the nearest big-box store and with Covid am not anxious to go mix with the great unwashed to shop or even pick it up. (Nobody other than Amazon offers door to door delivery in my location.)
My choice and I'm quite happy with a 5% return on what usually is already a competitive price. The sales tax "saving" is pretty much universally gone so it is much a non-issue.

They look for the people who will pay double for stuff, for 5% "cash back.... which they then use to buy more overpriced stuff on Amazon.

You are correct (in some cases) however the SKU numbers would be different and in this case they are identical. Again, "do diligence must be practiced when shopping.
