Double action sear

Is this sear on a revolver case hardened? I bought a DA/SA trigge assembly for my DAO 64 and of course it's not a direct drop in. It's hanging up on the double action sear as its too long. I swapped sears with the original hammer but its not exactly right and hangs up every couple times. So my question is when fitting a hammer, can I work the bottom edge of the DA sear? I won't modify the original one of course.

Got it installed and now everything is in spec. Runs like a champ and I can return it to its original DAO anytime. Good stuff and thanks for the picture.
