Double stack 15-22 mags

All this really stems from me thinking of my 15-22 less of as a "plinker" and more as an "AR trainer" and then wondering why the mags for a smaller round of ammunition are limited to 25 when the standard AR mag is 30. The answer, of course, is in the length of the mag for the 15-22 and that it is single stack.

Just something that bugs as it seems like it shouldn't be that big of an engineering feat to get a double stack .22lr mag. But what do I know, I work in health care. The 15-22 is still awesome, just wish it had those 5 more rounds in the mag to be consistent.

I find that my "real" AR training is better when I load the mags to less than full capacity and end up practicing "mag changes" more often...

I can't remember the last time I actually went thru a full 30 round mag.

But then I can't remember what I had for breakfast an hour ago either.

Well, yes, it is. Don't you think they would already exist, if it weren't that big of an engineering deal?m There ARE double stacks for the 10/22 and they are jam-prone and unreliable.

It does appear that Doomsday Industries is operating to some capacity. I got an e-mail this morning to friend them on Facebook. I have no idea how they got my e-mail address other than I had some e-mail correspondence with DT from this forum regarding his high-cap mags. Check out www.doomsdayind.com. The picture of the 15-22 at the top of the page has a magazine installed that looks remarkably similar to the 3D models DT had posted here of his magazine.

Whoops... you actually have to go to the company Facebook page to view the picture I was referring to. Just click on the Facebook link at the bottom of the company web page.

Oh well :P

That is for the ambi charging handle I think. https://doomsdayind.3dcartstores.com/MP15-22-Ambi-Charge-Handle_p_10.html

Also from the Facebook page it appears that Ranier Arms has told him to not sell the ambi handle for the 15-22 (even though they don't make one for the 15-22), and that he has been made aware of the S&W magazine lawsuits. Hopefully he can change the designs enough to get around any legal issues.

Yeah, sorry for not making it clearer. I want the ambi charging handle. I want it more than the double stack mag.
