I had earlier this Summer chronographed a 10 shot string of DoubleTap 38 Spl +P 158 SWC and would like to share the results with you:

Firearm: 4 5/8 inch Ruger BH
Load: DoubleTap 38 Special +P 158 gr SWC

Shot#/MV
1. 972
2. 940
3. 921
4. 967
5. 961
6. 961 (duplicate)
7. 937
8. 931
9. 932
10. 955

Notes: DoubleTap claims a 1,000 fps from a 4 inch Ruger GP100. I'm skeptical about their velocity results. I can easily duplicate their load using Power Pistol, Unique or Accurate #5 with a generic 158 gr cast SWC. They claim the bullet is a "Keith" SWC…nope, it is a generic Magma mold type SWC, which is fine. Accuracy was good but nothing spectacular at least for me.

DoubleTap ammo used to have a reputation for hitting their advertised velocities. I guess that was in the past from what you show.

Thank you again for sharing your work with us.

What I did find is the Speer short barrel .38 +P ammo does hit the mark but that's for another thread.
