Dream car finally achieved!

My dad had a 73 Riviera he bought new, I think they were less opulant that the earlier years. In the spring of 74 I was driving a friend home from a concert. I took a left turn at 75 mph, the friend seeing I was being a maniac, took to the passengers floor. After the turn I took it back up to 95. It road so smooth he never noticed that we were through the turn. That is why you don't let 17 year old boys play with powerful toys, or maybe the quality of the car is how I survived my teens.

Wow.... you must have super smooth roads over there.
I did a similar thing in my 1965 Pontiac Bonneville and almost ended up i a ditch on the other side of the road.
front wheels bouncing all over.

A true "brown pants" moment :o

That is a really nice, feel good kind of story and I enjoyed reading it. That is one beautiful car and I know you will enjoy it. Congratulations of the realization of your dream.

All things to him who waits.............

I've always fancied the early 70s boat tails, but the '65 is certainly a beauty. Very nice snag indeed. Congratulations Mark.

I had a 65 Buick Wildcat, Could have lived in the car I think it had 6 cigarette lighters!:)

On the speedometer I notice the indicator. Does it have the speed limit BUZZER indicator> You set it at say 65 MPH and if you exceed that the buzzer goes off?

ROAD TRIP!:D

Took a road trip from Tonopah to Vegas in the mid 70's in a 65 (hidden headlights).

Did 140mph across the desert.

Great car!

always wanted one.

Congratulations.

Congrats, finding your dream is rare. I like Buick's and did like the Rivera over the Olds Tornado.

My ride when I got married was a '67 Buick Wildcat convertible, dark metallic green. It had the 425 or perhaps 430 Wildcat 4 bbl engine and full power everything. I remember it did very well on gas.

The Buick engines were called nail heads due to smaller valves. Smaller valves do produce tremendous torque and they can also go fast.

Should'a drove the big cat to a different house for my 1st date way back then.

It does indeed have the "speed minder". Guy I got it from told me that he kept hearing something buzz occasionally. I figured it out on the way home. It doesn't always work; and I silenced it by setting it on 100 mph.

That is one heck of a find.................... Enjoy.

In the 60's my dates Father let us use his Buick to go up to the hills and go skiing. My Father owned Lincolns so I though nothing about driving another big heavy car.

That Buick got rubber at 55 mph with the BIG Wildcat engine !!
I never dreamed that they had that much raw power and the ride was just floating down the highway at 75 mph.

You got yourself a WINNER !!
