Drum roll please.....

NICE find there, Sip! The "Dick Specials" conjure up memories of Jack Webb as Sgt. Joe Friday in "Dragnet" and Humphrey Bogart on the silver screen. These are fine guns, and it looks like you have a keeper. The shrouded ejector rod will come in handy when you have to bop a perp over the head with one, and six shots vs. 5 in the J-frames can't help but be a good thing.

Some years ago, I picked up one of the earlier ones, vintage of 1959. "Put your hands up, Louie, turn around real slow, and keep 'em up!" The perfect tool to go with that dialogue, right?

One of the few "Brand-C" guns I always wanted but have never owned. Around here, it is hard to get the owners to turn loose of them. Congrats to you on landing that one. That is a nice looking example and I am sure you will be happy with it. Most of those I have seen were good shooters and turned out to be pretty handy little guns. I agree with John that the shrouded barrel is a good thing on that model, even if you are not the "bop"-ing type! :D

Beautiful!

I have the same model as Sip and haven't shot it yet. One of the best "handling" revolvers I have ever held.

Nice older model too. I have one of those in the 3 inch but I am thinking someday I might "need" the 2 inch.

Sip:

I only own one Colt Double Action Revolver, and it's the twin sister to yours. Mine too came with the black medallion rubberized grips, (actually not Pachy's, but can't remember off hand the name of Company that actually made 'em). I replaced them with the older style (NOS) DS wooden grips along with a Tyler T Grip and it is a pleasure to shoot.

For some reason the velocities out of my DS are slightly and consistently a little faster than the same ammo through a Chief's Special. Not much, maybe 20-30 fps more, but consistently so.

Enjoy it as it is a fine gun!

Thanks Papajohn.:)

Sal, dad will be out in March so I'll show him...btw, as much as hate rubber grips, those medallion pachs don't look half bad..and they are correct for the year...but I think I'll sport these babies that Rimfired so graciously willed to me...:)

I'm shocked that I have not received payment yet for the stocks. I told you, and we agreed, on one million dollars. I'll expect the money to be immediately transferred or my solicitor will be in touch with yours.

I really had trouble leaving the gun there for another 10 days...actually 12 days since pick up date is next Saturday and my ffl will be gone until that Monday. :(

I can well relate to your extended pain Sip... I would be picking up my AR this coming Wed except that my ffl is going to the Shot Show in Vegas and won't be back until Sat !!! Makes for a 13 day wait.
