dumb question M1917 in a M7 shoulder/chest holster

The M7 holster that I know is for the 1911A1 and I really doubt that it will even come close to fitting a 1917 revolver. The Hi Power and P-38/P1 will also fit the M7 fairly well. Hope this helps.

I seriously doubt it. Let me go try -

Umm, in a pinch, it could work. The front of the trigger guard hangs up at the point the front part of the hand grip rests on a 1911. But the cylinder is mostly encased and relatively snuggly. The barrel muzzle is just at the edge of the leather, but covered.

The problem is the retention strap won't go over the knuckle/hammer and reach down to snap. The rear of the grip protrudes above the top leather backing an inch or a bit. But overall it's snug and there, the problem is the strap is too short, other wise it would work.

I once bought a 1917 S&W that indeed came with a M7 holster. Both had a mans name and ALASKA 1947 scratched on them. The holster will stretch out with a little effort to work.
