Seems like just the other day I was posting info about my hometown in SC, after he asked for info about prospective locales for relocation. He's in a better place now. RIP DWFan.
More sad news today. I never met the gentleman, but read his posts and enjoyed them. Again, another member who will be sorely missed.

I'm one of many members who benefited from his excellent skills, he was a talented gentleman. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. Rest In Peace, Paul.

Sadness for his family as well as all of us. I have some of his work. He was a master.

I didn't know him as well as some but had the pleasure of experiencing his craftsmanship when he reworked the stocks on the 1905 that is my avatar. RIP Sir.

I met Paul years ago at an SWCA Annual Meeting. I forget which one. We conversed a bit via email and PMs over the years. I'll miss him.
He was a generous supporter of this forum, and I'll always appreciate that. He wasn't bashful about prompting others in his salty style: New guys

Will remember him every time I handle a certain K38 with restored diamond targets he did so well.
I am truly sorry to hear this. He will be missed by the S&W fraternity at large.

On a purely selfish note, this is sad news indeed. Both Swamprat (Hugh Clark) on the Colt Forum and now DWfan (Paul Gendron) gone - both artisans skilled in wood restoration. I hope someone is taking up the torch for both.

Does anyone know for sure that Paul has died?
I did more checking, and he was positively logged in here in December- last month!
All I heard is what the OP stated on his thread after he sent DWfan a message.I too saw his log on in December but assumed it was his son in case some members had stocks in for repair.I noticed his last post was in August.I hope the OP is confused and that Paul is still with us.
Just now found this post. Very much regret to read of his passing. May God grant to his loved ones that grace and mercy which He has promised to all who place their faith and trust in Him. Sincerely. bruce.
