E-mail

I have been using Windows Live mail & charter for e-mail for quite a few years. it all of a sudden stopped working right so I finally ended up restarting the computer and now it is working again. I don't know if it just "burped" or if it is trying to tell me to start using something else. I think that Microsoft stopped supporting several years ago but I hate to give it up because it really like it. it would be real pita that go around changing the e-mail address on heaven knows how many places

does anybody use Windows 10 for e-mail? if so how do you like it?

I get a number of e-mails from people using gmail and I think that is through google. for gmail users how do you like it?

any other suggestions?

I use both. Hotmail for general use. Gmail for more private use.

Gmail is easier and more intuitive once you get used to it. Better spam filter too.

Liked it up.
Looks like MS has stopped supporting it.
You are riding a dead Horse!
Remember - email has two major components.
Your provider, the folks who give you your handle and actually transmit your stuff.
Then you have your computer app - program which receives, displays , stores your messages on your device.
They don’t have to or need to be provided by the same folks!
I use Comcast, my internet- TV- Phone provider as my main email provider.
Comcast holds my emails for 30 days on their server, so if I have a failure— problem on my end, I can go to the their server and get my emails.
On my desktop Win 10 computer, I use Thunderbird.
I like it much better than the app provided with Win 10.
On my iPad, I use the IOS Apple app.
Sounds like you need a new email provider and probably a different email app.

Thunderbird is client software and is free to use. ... You have to have an existing, active email address with a provider before using Thunderbird and select use existing mail service when setting up Thunderbird.

In general I think it is a good idea to turn off your computer and restart it at least every few days or so. A complete shutdown and restart. I don’t use a computer anymore, just an iPad, but notice when my wife's computer, a Mac laptop, chokes on something it usually fixes itself with a restart. I do restart my iPad frequently. I think this helps keeps it running smoothly.

I have used gmail since retiring about seven years ago. I like it fine.

I've used Gmail since its inception. I like it, can access it from any device, anywhere. Yes, it is owned by the "big brother is watching you Google"

I use Thunderbird on my computer - have done for years. G Mail on my phone. At work we use a version of G Mail. Tried Outlook and Thunderbird for the phone, but I didn't like them as well as plain old G Mail.
