His obituary was posted in the Woonsocket Call yesterday. I spoke with him a few times and found him to be a helpful fellow. May he rest in peace.

A lot of old knowledge has gone with Earl. He had just recently retired too. Seems to happen a lot.

I talked to Earl many times. About Lew Horton pistols and life in general. He volunteered many hours to the Boy Scouts. Went to many of their conventions, meetings and campouts. He was a GREAT guy. He did not as much retire as he lost a life long job when Lew Horton Distributing closed its doors last year. I will miss our conversations.

Very, very sad news. Although Earl and I never met in person, I considered him a friend. His help was invaluable to research many of the items in my collection. Godspeed to you Earl, my condolences and prayers for the family. Bob Ratliff

I missed this when it was first posted and just heard about it today. I hate to hear it. He was a nice guy that was always willing to help out with Lew Horton guns. Gone too young!

I always talked to him at the SHOT Shows when I ordered my Lew Horton guns...He was cheerful and helpful in deciding where my buy money was best spent...His advice was good, as well as his character...RIP...

I wonder if I can get my 3" 610 lettered? Be nice to have even though S&W can verify it with the Ser#. Is there any cost?
