I just swapped for this sweet revolver but a previous owner must have dropped it on concrete because the front sight and the rear sight blade have flat spots on the left corners.
I am looking for a gunsmith to mill it and install a pinned front factory sight.
It would be nice if there is a recommended smith in the DFW area but I can ship or travel if needed.
I read on another thread that the S&W factory is backed up 7 months, yikes!
Thanks for the help.

I've used Grimes Gunsmithing (Henry Grimes), Richland Hills, for several years. Does all his work in house and does a good job. If you have been around the area for a while, Henry was an apprentice under Lou Williamson, a true master gunsmith. 817-893-5339

McClelland gun shop

McClelland
I'm glad you mentioned McClelland. Have you had this type work done by them?
They have had my 686 since May, but they just make excuses about getting parts. Maybe the correct size bit/cutter for their mill I guess. I'm about to give up on them.

I talked to McClelland gunsmith yesterday, the hold-up is for the correct sight blade that matches the rear sight. Parts just very difficult to get this year and last. Not surprising with S&W moving to TN and everything else.
