early Model 41

No "peculiarities" with that particular model that I can think of. The model 41's are usually trouble free, but individual examples can be nothing but trouble. (my personal observation and opinion)

It would be nice if you had an opportunty to shoot the gun first and check for both reliability and accuracy. This would help you rule out problems with this particular gun. When they are reliable and accuarate, they are great.

The only fault that I have observed - I do not own one yet - is a propensity in SOME FEW Model 41s to be picky about ammunition. If you cannot ask the previous owner what it likes, or if it has the issue at all, you may have a trial and error period to find out what ammunition likes. I have never heard pf a Model 41 that is a complete "lemon" although I guess there must be some out there,

In my experience, the older 41's tend to be more trouble free than the newer ones, maybe just well broken in. No dash doesn't seem to apply to 41's, I look for s/n's without the three letter prefix.
Look for signs of slide cracking which can occur in early guns with a sharp corner rather than radiused at the junction of the breech face. With high round count, the bolt face can be battered but it is replaceable.
