A friend of mine has an early model 60 serial number 476xxx. It has the fairly rare case colored hammer & trigger. It's in excellent condition with original box, paperwork and tools. The only problem is it doesn't have the original diamond grips. He is ready to part with it and asked me what a fair asking price would be. You guys have any idea what he should ask? Thanks Bob

The serial number comes from the years 1966/67, according to Roy Jinks, "History of Smith & Wesson," p. 232.

Not having the original grips is a heart breaker to me. I watched one in similar shape, including correct box, goodies, and grips go for $1,000 on the big auction site last week.
