Early snow

September and early October in the PNW is often the best time of year. It's 45 deg right now and expected to reach the high 70's today. Bluebird skies and fall in the air.

I am off to the gun club to try and destroy clay birds flung from the devil's own device - a trap machine. The good news is that I know I'll break 'em all. Either in the air, or when they hit the ground.

Beautiful. Of course, I don't have to work or drive in it. And if I was at 11000' I'd be 250 feet from the top of Mt. Hood, the highest point in the state. It would be a very steep building site.:D

We had a little snow up on the Pryors at about 9000 ft last weekend Gone within a couple hours

I sure hope we get some snow at Christmas time here in the PNW.

Hunting in Buena Vista this year. Glad to see the snow, just hope it is still there in Nov.

Had snow on the Highland Range, south of Butte last week. It was gone the next day. I am somewhat amazed that on September 15 we have yet to see frost.

IIRC lack of snow pack is behind much of the drought problem in the West.
We had a snowless winter here in NJ this past year, fortunately we had enough rain to make up for it.

Hasn't snowed any appreciable amount since I bought a 4wd 5 years ago in case it snowed

Never needed one for the snow around here. But, after spending 7 hours in traffic because people couldn't handle 4" of snow, I decided I needed a 4X4. This way I can drive around them off road.
