Early Triple Lock Question

This gun, serial number 31 is currently for sale. The roll mark on the barrel made me wonder if it is in 44 Russian caliber? Thoughts?

Also, if anyone wants to know where it is PM me. Not trying to violate any rules…

The barrel markings tells us it’s in .44 (S & W) Special.

But the barrel has 44 S&W CTG, no mention of SPL or SPECIAL. Which given the early SN would seem to indicate the 44 S&W Russian.

That should be chambered for the 44 S&W Special cartridge.

They were marked differently early in production, but are still in .44 Soecial. Here’s number 225, which letters in .44 Special and has the same caliber markings on the barrel as yours.

And here’s number 3459, also in .44 Special, but with the later style caliber markings on the barrel.
