Educate me if you would please....

Ruger LCP or Kahr CW series are what I think of when it comes to pocket carry.

Off topic, but watch out carrying na BUG in some states. I know for sure that a second concealed gun is illegal in NM.

Why does everyone assume I have had no training?

Two members mentioned training is good. You jumped to a conclusion that they think you are untrained. Neither said that, just recommended good professional training.

I've been shooting for 55 years. I'm a former LEO. I've attended many training classes. I don't presume to know everything. I still need training. Everyone does.

As to your original question, I pocket carried Jframes for a lot of years, and found the airweight versions to be most comfortable. Yes, they bite pretty hard, but if you're in a situation where you need it that won't much matter. I carry either a small 9mm or tiny .380 these days. I like the higher round count.

I've played with the K6s but they just don't feel right to me. Everyone is a bit different though so it might work for you.

Your pocket, your call!

I have a Kimber K6XS 6 shot and replaced the grips with a compact set. Makes for a compact gun that will hold 6 rounds.

That is their newest model, built on an alloy frame for weight saving.
The Kimber K's are excellent revolvers, no doubt. Their only issue is having a unique (to them) grip frame. Thus, all of the options you would have with an airweight Smith J-frame are rather limited with Kimber.

Any of the steal guns are heavy for pocket carry but are much more pleasant to shoot. I would go for one of the many light weight ones mentioned or the new 442UC, 642UC in .38 or the same in .32 H&R Mag being the 432UC or 632UC. The .32H&R give you 6 rds, instead of 5 and is very pleasant to shoot. Excellent sights, grip and very good trigger. I have had many of the above mentioned snubs and like the 432UC the best. If not for pocket carry, any of the steal guns are much easier to shoot than their light weight counterparts. I have a 649 that I like a lot and really like the 640 Pro but don't own one.

For years, i've carried a 442 in a bug situation. Lately, my friends have
convertered to Glocks.

I've given into the fad and am packing either a PSA Dagger Micro
(15 rds) or a Glock 26 (12 rds) and the 442 as my BUG.

Im not convinced this is the best solution, but with the local
socio/political situation and my situation, it's the best I can come up with.

You'll do ok with either.

I like your user name; Made me remember the old bits that radio personality Gary Burbank would do on WLW in Cincinnati. One of his characters was "The big fat balding guy with a stubby cigar in his mouth and his pants half zipped"

I have a three inch K6 and like it a lot. But it’s an all steel gun and not really practical for pocket carry. I use my 638 for that
