wife was on the deck yesterday. a hummingbird came within inches of her face, she had green feathers, just hovered there about 30 seconds. i said the HB was also watching itself in her sun glasses. when we lived SC, had feeders front and back yard, noticeing, maybe a female would chase away other HB's. so i moved the feeders to the back. i could see her sleeping in a tree, i would watch the HB chase other HB's away all day. she came back for maybe 6 years to the feeders. when she was pregnent, she looked like a bowling pin.

So, where did the 1:1 formula come from? IIRC, read it in bird book and saw online( that means nothing), have always thought it was kinda sticky solution. I'll dilute whats left and whats in feeders. Wonn't have to buy more sugar, LOL.
