Eerie photos

Such a waste. The ones that blew me away the most were the ones in Russia. There is a site that also shows huge abandoned structures from the WWII and Cold War eras. One in particular that stood out in my mind-was a resort building that was I think? four miles long. Hitler wanted it built off the coast somewhere and some of it was completed. It was abandoned and in the past few years, investors started buying it up and completing construction. I think this time, the building or portions of it are being made into apartments while other sections are stores, theaters and such.

Very cool photos of some very eerie places. I'd love to rehab/live in a couple of them. I've been inside Eastern State prison (as a tourist) and it is, indeed, supposed to be haunted. At one time, there was a lot of talk about rehabilitating it and turning it into condos but it never went anywhere. The city now uses it for storage. Willie Sutton is rumored to have escaped from there by digging his way out with a spoon. That's gotta be urban legend.

There is some superb photography there. Some of them look like photorealistic oil paintings.

I was a frequent visitor to the Orpheum in Boston. I had no idea there was two of them. It's been a long while. The last show I saw there was "Jesus Christ, Super Star". I was wearing a lime green, bell bottomed double knit leasure suit, and platform shoes.

After looking at the VERY weird places, fascinating places, scary places especially that abandoned Psych. hospital I scrolled down a little and all of a sudden I saw Holland got talent..Bang.....This 8 year old girl was singing in the semi finals.......Amira Willeghagen....You have to see it to believe it...This kid has a voice of a 30 year old Diva......Andrea Rieu the famous composer and orchestra leader has already invited her to sing with his orchestra. I had never even heard of him until about a year ago...He packs them in all over the world, from classics to pop he is amazing. You can bet this little girl will be featured with him in the real near future........The whole thread was very neat.....Thanks for posting........I have seen the abandoned RR lines in Jessie James country, you can almost see the train being stopped and robbed..........Again thanks neat thread....Worth the visit..

Thanks Sip # 20 Holy Land brought back some bad memories.:(
When I was almost 18 some buddies talked me into going there to check it out. Well the next thing I know there is a few cops and they had 5 of us handcuffed back to back made us walk down the mtn. and take a ride in the paddy wagon also towed my car. Next morning I found out the judge helped build the place. We were arrested for Criminal Tresspass and Criminal Vandalisim. WE never vandalized anything so after several trips to court it boiled down to a $15.00 fine and a Tresspasisng charge.
