So I am trying to sell my Sigma its a 9mm with 100 rds down range and only a few months old I have big hands and it is to hard to wear gloves while shooting it so im trying to sell it. My question is do you think 270 plus shipping is to much to ask for this gun and if so what would you ask for one. Dont be scared to give honest answers.

Not saying your price is to high, but you can get a brand new one right now on Buds for $298 with free shipping.

The good news is, the sigma is a steal at the original purchase price.

The bad news is, the sigma doesn't have much resale value.

New ones at Academy are $319 and sometimes go on sale for $299 (and that's with a $50 rebate).

I don't think you'll get more than $225 used for it, so if you want to dump it, you may have to suck it up and take the loss.

It is what it is.

Good luck with the sale!

Couple of ideas:
A handall grip sleeve might fill out the palm.

Also, how you grip the gun makes a difference. When I shake hands with one of my fellow shooters, my hand disappeares in his huge mitt---yet he can hold and shoot a J frame. Look around for an instructor or seasoned shooter with large hands and see how he does it.

This is the reason I don't sell guns often. Lots of people want new and consider used a bad thing. I personally would rather have a proven used over an unproven new. That being said I see used sigma's at pawn shops for $200 all the time, and even then they still don't sell.

Nothing against you, or the Sigma, but I wouldn't pay more than $100.00 for a used one. I'd just buy a new one and not have to wonder what you'd done to it to "improve" it.

I'm not saying you did anything to it, but a lot of people do, and I have no way to know if you're one of them or not.

I get what you are saying and one thing I did forget to mention is that I have not turned in the 50 dollar rebate so the buyer could still maybe do that but at this point they may not feel its worth it.

What the problem is, is that the gloves don't fit in the trigger guard very well so the trigger won't reset and im using mechanics gloves so its not that they are to bulky.

I'd say turn in the rebate yourself and lower the price to 220 shipped. You have to understand there is also a FFL transfer for most people and that will range from 15-25 dollars. That would bring your 225 dollar sigma up to 240 range which is still high.

Good luck with your sale.

Well, I'll toss $0.02 onto the table here...

1. Turn in the $50 rebate. You will find a way to put it to good use.
2. Keep the Sigma, and take it shooting when you aren't wearing gloves.
3. Find another 'cold-weather' gun that you can shoot with gloves.

Saves a lot of hassles selling the Sigma, you won't have to lower its price until your heart breaks, and you will have a fine gun in your expanding collection. :D

Jim H makes a good point.

Another suggestion: Cut a slit in your glove so that you can poke your trigger finger out to use it.

Question: What pistol did you have in mind that will allow you to wear those gloves to shoot with? Just wondering.

Personally, when it gets cold enough where I am shivering and my hands are that cold, I just go to the local indoor range. :D

Well..... I paid $150.00 for my 40VE that had been barely fired and I got a speed loader and 100 rounds of ammo with it.

the Sigmas are not worth selling, seeing as you can buy one brand new with 4 mags for $300. just keep it its a good gun

I am on my second Sigma. I thought about selling my first one but decided to give it away to one of my brother-in-laws. He wasn't a shooter but was curious. A little instruction, a free SW9VE and now he's an NRA card carrying pro-gun American. He buys ammo, he support his local gun range and he consider the 2nd Amendment when he votes. That was worth more than $250 to me.

I would have done the same!! Awesome!

My gun collection started at age 10 when I was given a number of handguns, shotguns and rifles from my Dad (now retired state cop), Mom (now retired Deputy Sheriff) and Uncle (formerly a gunsmith). Just keeping up the good karma. My give away totals to date include 1 SW9VE, 3 Glock 19's, 2 Makarovs, a S&W Model 15, a S&W Model 10, a S&W 638 and a Colt Challenger. Of course all of them went to relatives with the requirement that they take a course, join the NRA and shoot them regularly. Now that I look back that was a lot of trade bait. ;)
