Mine looks like that also...they say it should be close like that towards the center of the bolt so it looks normal to me, if that is how yours is, you should be OK I am guessing.

I really need to get out and shoot mine...just living in So cal, and wanting to shoot outside, I have to drive at least 1 hour each way, and with a family wanting to do other things on the weekends, it's hard to get out to shoot sometimes.

If yours looks like the photo you're good to go.

S&W fixed the "ejector" problem months ago, certainly before Thanksgiving. Only the early rifles, or those with poor quality control, need any ejector adjustment.

Note you can bend this part during cleaning if you're careless. I think a better design would have placed the ejector in the bolt carrier group as the subcaliber inserts do.

i been carful when i cleaned it,i havent fired it yet but today i will, also i noticed something else,on the bolt assembly in the pic is diffrent then mine also, the 2 little holes on the bolt assembly(pic) are spaced apart, one on top and bottom, where mine are spaced on the bottom and arnt that high up

The little rectangular hole is apparently a lube point or debris recess for the extractor.

The larger, upper hole ain't a thru-hole at all, it's blind hole that seems to be intended to collect the dirt that rubs off the extractor.

Got a photo of yours? (Mine matches the photo above exactly.)

The hole through the side is where the end of the extractor snaps into. The two holes on the bottom of the bolt are likely for balancing the bolt out as it's machined.

This is reason #2 you should just use a bore snake through the barrel;)

bolt assemble differs

hers a pic of my bolt assemble, look at both picks, notice the assemble are diffrent

I'm sticking with "Those are for balancing the bolt". You see this in all sorts of machining. Since the bolt is exposed to linear movement, perhaps the bolt is weighed to make sure one end isn't heavier than the other end and if so, a little mark is drilled in the appropriate location.

It's hard to say without inside knowledge

Did you mirror the image of yours? Everything looks flipped like its left handed.

i did the ejector fix on my rifle DTM serial havnt had one issue since i did it with ejecting spent rounds. my ejector almost touches the bolt
